PORT OF BALTIMORE, MD

We were approached in the Fall of 2016 to completely renovate a large warehouse at the Port of Baltimore. The building had a long, storied history but had fallen into decay. We completely demolished the interior facilities and exterior skin, brought in new utilities, upgraded the power, brought in a gas line from 1/4 mile away, welded and repaired the superstructure, re-insulated and skinned the exterior, built a new 9,000 SF office area with cafeteria, added polyaspartic floor coating, a compressor shed, Infra-Red warehouse heat, NLight system, low voltage wiring and server racks as well as a litany of customized interior MEP specific to the client.

Why OMEGA was the right contractor for the job.

The owner wanted a trusted General Contractor, with a long history of experience in Pre-Engineered construction to repair and improve this facility. With our decades of experience, and litany of contacts, we provided an excellent single-source solution for the entirety of the project scope. Completed in just under eight months, at a budget 10% less than our competition, the owner was very pleased with the result.

What challenges was OMEGA faced with on this job?

This structure had been left to decay for years and around every turn we found a new surprise to deal with and repair. But with our experienced team, we knew how to meet the challenge in a cost-effective way and not let the problem derail the vision.
