Omega was contacted by Baltimore Fabrication in the fall of 2023 to assist with evaluating some different properties they were looking at for expansion. After some preliminary budgeting exercises, BFab made the choice to purchase a disused piece of property and building and completely redevelop it with Omega's assistance. We went to work designing the new workspace, performed the due diligence on the existing site, coordinated the Civil, Structural, Architectural and MEP engineering and acquired the permit before starting construction in March of 2025. After we demolished the existing structures we kicked it into high gear to redevelop the site and construct a new 30,000sf manufacturing facility with 5,000 square foot office. The four interior cranes service the plasma cutters and welders used by the client and the office has a break room big enough for the 70 employees working there. The results are fantastic and we have received many compliments from the client, the township, and many area businesses. We look forward to building the next phase with this great client.

Why OMEGA was the right contractor for the job: 

The design process for this one had a lot of moving pieces, from existing site concerns, to layout and space planning determinations, to permitting hurdles and then once under construction we had 10 straight weeks of rain. But Omega's in-house Design/Build experts figured out all of the challenges and delivered a great product that everyone is proud of.

What challenges was OMEGA faced with on this job?

Once we demolished the building the site was found to have an abundance of buried rock and trash. This slowed foundations and concrete install, but we found cost effective ways to get past these hurdles and stay on schedule.
